Southern Arizona is prime real estate for subterranean termites. Although most people think of our dry climate as not ideal for termite activity, termites are pervasive throughout the region. The saying goes, “it’s not if you’ll get termites, but when you’ll get them.”
Subterranean termites live in and nest in the ground and constantly forage through the soil looking for food sources (wood and other cellulose products). However, their natural foraging habits inevitably lead them to your home and the wealth of wood products that come with it. Their insatiable appetites cause more than $3 billion in damage and repairs in the U.S. every year, most of which could have been prevented with effective termite control.
At Bill’s, we’ve been treating termites for more than 50 years and know the best ways to protect your home from these destructive pests. We utilize regular inspections as well as both traditional liquid treatments and the Sentricon® System to provide you with the peace of mind that your home is safe year after year.
Sentricon® System with Always Active™ Technology
Sentricon® with Always Active™ is the premier termite treatment system. The Sentricon® system provides the only proactive approach to termite control by installing bait stations in the soil around the perimeter of your home (no drilling needed!) creating a protective ring. The stations are filled with a specially designed bait that doesn’t break down in the harsh Arizona climate and never dissipated into the soil (very eco-friendly) providing you with protection day after day, month after month, year after year.
Traditional Liquid Treatment
Bill’s uses an industry leading non-repellent termiticide that is designed to bond with the soil and create a barrier around the foundation of your home to prevent the termites from accessing the wood inside. Termites cannot detect this non-repellent and they readily move through the treated areas. Not only will the termites that directly come in contact with the barrier die, but based on their biology and colony habits the other termites that they come in contact with die as well. This substantially reduces and eliminates the entire colony.
Annual Service Contracts
In most cases, both the liquid and Sentricon treatments include an annual service contract to give you peace of mind that your home is safe from the destructive powers of termites. If certain conditions are met, some homes may also qualify for structural damage protection which would provide for the repair of subterranean termite damage to your home. A service contract does not guarantee that termites will not attack your home, but it will cover the necessary treatment when they do.
